IT Sourcer is kind of a new job profile in the Information and Technology industry. The IT Sourcer’sjob is to coordinate well with the HR managers of the companies to recruit candidates for crucial position in the organization.

 Few positions in the IT industries are very critical to decide on the best candidate like a developer, programmer etc. In such cases, it is quite necessary to take the help of a third person and it is when the position of an IT Sourcer emerges. 

However, few people confuse the job profile of asourcer with that of an IT recruiter.In reality, these two are a totally different job profile. Let us see the specification of each job profile.

Even though a sourcer knows the exact job requirementhe or she may not necessarily work with the hiring manager. This directly means that a sourcer does not have any direct influence on the candidate being selected. 

Sourcer’sare often given a target to get a certain number of candidates in the given period of time.This adds the pressure and challenges of a job as an IT Sourcer. Few also prefer to freelance as a sourcer to various companies. It depends on the company to rely on a freelance or a dedicated full-time employee for such a critical position.

 Arecruiter is a person responsible for direct the hiring of the candidate. An IT recruiter usually gets in deciding the job description, searching candidates outside and negotiates the terms ofemployment.A recruiter is capable of influencing the hiring decision of the company.He or she can recommend a certain candidate to the employer if beneficial to the organization. A recruiter is kind of a versatileemployee,who handles the total process of hiring an employee unlike an IT Sourcer who only is responsible for sorting out the best candidates for the post.
